Excerpt from Du å du (My oh my)
|
| But what, thought Olav, what should they say anyway to those two fine city-dog ladies if they met them? He didn't know, and the woods-dog Bard probably didn't know either, so he didn't, for if they met those two fine city-dog ladies Bard probably wouldn't say a word, then he would be so shamefaced and embarrassed that he would hardly raise his eyes, thought Olav, so if anything was going to be said, he would have to say it himself, that he was certain of, thought the fjord-dog Olav and then he hears Bard behind him say in a low voice that there! there they come! right there ahead! they're coming toward us, those two fine ladies are coming toward us! he hears the woods-dog Bard say and the fjord-dog Olav looks up and he sees those two fine city-dog ladies coming right toward them, side by side, and the two fine city-dog ladies are smiling to each other and talking and laughing and they're wagging their tails charmingly from side to side and the fjord-dog Olav thinks my oh my how fine they are, these city-dog ladies!
